Élodie CHAPELET
Golfer
Élodie received a grant to help her participate in international competitions.
What is your sporting background?
I started playing golf at the age of 4-5 at Epherra Golf Club. My family (my mother and uncles) own a golf course, so it was a natural progression for me. After graduating from high school, I went to college in the United States, where I earned a bachelor's degree in business with a focus on industrial engineering, and a master's degree in management. During my amateur career, I won Grand Prix events such as Chiberta and Hossegor as well as six college tournaments. I was named All-American champion and also represented France at the 2019 European Ladies Championship. I turned professional in July 2021 and earned a spot to play on the Symetra tour (2nd American division) for the year 2022.
How do you view your profession today?
Women's golf is evolving tremendously, and I feel privileged to be able to play this sport, which is also my job now every day. The level increases every year, and the competition is more and more difficult. The competing, the adrenaline, the trips, the encounters, all allow me to experience emotions that no other sport or job could give me.
How do you see yourself in five years? In 10 years?
In five years, I see myself playing on the LPGA and playing majors. In 10 years, I hope to have one or more wins on the LPGA as well as play in the Solheim Cup.
