Golfer
Ines received a scholarship to finance her participation in international competitions.
What is your sporting background ?
I started golf at the age of five, all my family being golfers too. To tell the truth, I was virtually born on the golf course. When I was 14, I played in my first selection for the French team in a match against the Spanish team. After that, I was selected five times for the European team championship, and I won two university tournaments in the United States, one of which set a record for my university (7 birdies in a row).
How do you see your profession today ?
The world of golf is changing, especially in France with players like Victor Dubuisson and Alexander Levy. Nevertheless, women's golf is still not appreciated for its true value. You have to give it time, but in the United States women's golf is changing. This is why I chose a career on the other side of the Atlantic. I always compare golf to tennis and previously women's tennis was undervalued compared to men's tennis, until the professional women players rebelled and obtained very similar remuneration to their male counterparts. Women's tennis is now as much in the media as men's tennis. I think the same thing will happen for golf.
How do you see yourself in 5 years ? In 10 years ?
In 5 years I see myself on the LPGA and in the world’s top 50, having several victories and a selection in the Solheim Cup. In 10 years, as I always said, family being very important to me, I hope I'll start a family and, on a professional level, I would still like to be on the LPGA or to have crossed over to high-level coaching.
