Marie-Caroline HOMINAL
Stage director

Marie-Caroline received a production grant for her production Dreamland.

What is your artistic background ?
I started dancing at the age of six in my mother's dance workshop, which mixed dance, improvisation, music and theatre. When I was 12 years old I left for Zürich to join the Schweizerische Ballettberufsschule (now the Tanz Akademie) and then the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London.

How do you see your profession today ?
When you start training at a very young age, you may at times not know why you are doing it. But it also allows me to question myself and to take a step back from what dance represents, which for me is directly linked to the rhythm of life. For a long time, dance has been the weak link in the arts and I am happy to see that today it has regained an important place in society.

How do you see yourself in 5 years ? In 10 years ?
I hope to remain animated by the need to produce stage pieces and to form new collaborations and encounters that will take me forwards.
