What is your artistic background ?
I began my musical studies at the Reims Conservatory with the violin. After obtaining my DEMs in violin, music theory, and chamber music, I took up the viola. As soon as I tried this instrument, I fell in love with it and decided to devote myself to it. I therefore studied for two years at the Conservatoire d'Aulnay-sous-Bois to prepare for the entrance exams with the aim of entering a higher education institution. In 2018, I was admitted to the CNSMD in Lyon for a bachelor's degree (DNSPM) in viola, where I studied in the class of Christophe Desjardins and Laurent Verney, then in the class of John Stulz, where I obtained my master's degree with unanimous honors from the jury in June 2023. Also passionate about teaching, I trained at the CNSMD in Lyon, where I obtained the State Diploma and the Certificate of Aptitude for viola teaching in 2024.
I am very interested in contemporary and creative music, as well as Arabic and Eastern music. This year, I will be in my second year of the Artist Diploma in Creative Performance (third cycle) at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. As part of this program, I am a member of the NEXT Ensemble, which is composed of musicians from my class, with whom I share wonderful adventures exploring contemporary repertoire and musical creation. Since 2023, I have also been studying Arabic and Oriental music at the Conservatoire de Gennevilliers in the class of violinist Rachid Brahim-Djelloul.
How do you see your profession today ?
This profession is wonderful because people are at the heart of artistic life. Musicians often divide their time between concerts, rehearsals, and teaching. These two aspects of the profession provide an incredible artistic and human experience because you are constantly interacting with audiences, sharing, listening... I think that's what makes us grow, both as human beings and as musicians.
How do you see yourself in 5 years ? in 10 years ?
That's a question I ask myself very often!
In ten years' time, I hope to still be enjoying lots of musical moments, with the same passion as ever, with the musicians around me and all those I will have met by then. I hope to be able to continue working on projects and passing on my passion for music with the same energy that my teachers had.
