Nastasia NADAUD
Golfer
Nastasia received a grant to finance her participation in international competitions.
What is your sporting background ?
I started golf at the age of six, thanks to my father, who also played. I also played tennis, practiced figure skating and boxing, but the little white ball won out! I played my first grand prix and international competitions at the age of 12. In 2022, I won my first international tournament in Germany, which got me selected for the French U18 team a few months later. We were European champions that same year. A few months later, I won my first professional tournament in Europe's second division as an amateur in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was then that I decided to go through the Ladies European Tour (first European division) and turn professional. I finished 3rd in this event and obtained full playing rights on the LET for 2023. That same year, I score my first top 10, followed by five more in 2024. I also had my first team win at the Aramco Team Series in London in June of this year.
How do you view your profession today ?
I think being a professional golfer is one of the best jobs in the world! Having an outdoor job that brings you travel, discovery of other cultures and new people is an experience you cannot find anywhere else. It's a wonderful profession that helps us grow as athletes, but also as people. It instills in us many values such as pushing oneself, patience and discipline, values that I find essential in top-level sport.
How do you see yourself in 5 years ? In 10 years ?
It is not easy to plan for the medium/long term in this profession, given all the ups and downs of the sport. In 5 years' time, one of my goals would be to have several victories on the Ladies European Tour, to settle down and evolve on the LPGA Tour. In 10 years' time, I would like to have represented my country at the Olympic Games, won one or more tournaments on the LPGA and won one or more Majors.
